Shakespeare’s forgotten rock and roll masterpiece! Inspired by the classic 50s sci-fi movie The Forbidden Planet and Shakespeare’s The Tempest, this high-energy jukebox musical is packed with rock ’n’ roll classics, including “Great Balls of Fire,” “Good Vibrations,” “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood,” “Young Girl,” and “Gloria.”

This year PWP shifts its children’s production to a week-long camp experience (Aug. 5-9) for actors from elementary through high school for three performances of “Grandpa’s Golden Stories” by Tessa Lang and Dan Olson. Set in rural Minnesota in the 1990s, this alternative holiday play celebrates simple miracles: recovery, redemption, reuniting with family, friendship, and writing a great county tune. “Hank & Jesus” is about redemption in the face of failure; the importance of family, even when relationships have eroded; and the value of hanging on to our dreams.
